Wyn EastonMy name is Wyn Easton. I was born in 1950 and grew up in the Midwest. I had a long and varied career at IBM and retired when I was fifty-five.

Now, I paint. I started painting because I was curious and I have always liked to work with my hands and create things. From computer programming to woodworking and now painting; creating has always been what I like to do.

So why painting? From my other creative endeavors, I concluded that it is the exploration and discovery involved with learning that I really enjoy. Early on I discovered that painting is not something that one masters overnight. In fact, learning to paint never ends. The more I paint, the more I realize how much more there is to learn.

My early attempts at painting were aimed at the technical aspects. Learning to draw, the use of color, and materials took all of my effort. Achieving depth in a painting was a major milestone. Somewhere along the way, I discovered art.

The difference between painting and art is that with art you have something to say. So, now I paint to say what I feel. I'm always striving to be a better painter so I can convey the beauty that surrounds us. For me, it doesn't get any better than that.
